Meet Mr. Donkey — caught mid-stare with an expression that's equal parts curious, skeptical, and utterly unbothered.
Those tall, sun-warmed ears are pricked forward in full attention, and his dark, glossy eyes seem to be sizing up the viewer right back, asking exactly who's interrupting his afternoon.
There's a quiet comedy to donkeys — that patient, knowing look that always seems to be holding back an opinion — and this portrait leans into it. Loose, wet-in-wet washes build up the soft texture of his coat in warm rust and violet tones, while a bold field of blue behind him lets his face take center stage, unapologetic and full of character.
Part portrait, part personality study — Mr. Donkey doesn't just look at you. He questions you.
