On a 'not so often' sunny afternoon in Den Bosch, the terrace at Eetbar de Stadt fills up fast. Locals know better than to waste good weather indoors — tables spill out under a row of bright yellow umbrellas, and for a few unhurried hours, the whole street seems to slow down.

Conversations drift between tables. Someone leans back with a coffee, someone else laughs at a story mid-telling. The warm brick façade behind them glows in the afternoon light, and the umbrellas cast pools of golden shade over the pavement below — a small, ordinary luxury: sunshine, good company, and nowhere else to be.

It's a scene that plays out in cafés across the Netherlands whenever the sun finally breaks through — a quiet celebration of the moment, painted in loose, sunlit washes of watercolor.

It's a study in contrast: warm sunlight against cool shadow, sharp architectural line against loose, gestural brushwork — a small, everyday moment made vivid.
