Roses in Light

A quiet moment, held still. A handful of pale roses rest in soft light against a deep, shadowed ground — their petals glowing with a gentle luminosity that feels almost meditative. Some blooms lean into focus, unfurled and warm with a blush of coral at their center; others recede into the shadows, hazy and half-remembered, like the edges of a peaceful thought.

There's nothing hurried here. The dark, textured background holds the composition in stillness, letting the light do the work — settling on each petal, tracing the curve of a leaf, resting quietly in the glass below. It's a study in contrast as much as calm: light emerging from shadow, softness held within structure.

A simple bouquet, painted slowly, meant to be looked at slowly.
